Chapter Two:'99 to 2016

In early 1999, Rob decided that his next recording project would be a true "Solo" effort,

for which he would be performing ALL The Instruments (including the Drums) and all vocals,

as well as all of the production aspects (which he was accustomed to doing as usual).

So in mid.-1999, Rob began laying down tracks for his New "Solo Project", although this time, at a much more leisurely pace.

Choosing from songs that he had written in the 80's, Rob was looking to recapture the mood and craving of those early years,

while at the same time, add a fresh new polished quality to them in the studio.

(This was something his earlier song collections lacked, due to the primitive recording equipment used during that time).

Recording sessions would be sporadic and slowly progressive over the next two years,

due to Rob's occasional lack of motivation during the process.

In Early 2002, Rob took an extended break from recording his Solo Project,

spending the first Third of the year starting up his New personal Music making one-man-company:

ROB DESMOND ROCKS Music Productions.

The first item of business actually took place in 2001, with the launch of "The Official ROB DESMOND Website".

Next on the agenda was to release a compilation album of songs recorded from 1990 to 1994,

entitled: Rob Desmond's SECRET IDENTITY...retraced.

(Released in April of 2002)-This was the First Rob Desmond Album to be put onto Compact-Disc.

Rob also Re-Issued The 1997 SECRET IDENTITY "Dementia" Album onto CD. (In May of 2002)

By June of 2002, Rob was back In The Studio - laying down the remaining tracks for the New Album.

Recording Sessions were finally completed in Mid-August.

Mixing and Post-Production of the Album then followed, and continued into November of 2002.

The Latest ROB DESMOND Album, entitled: "SOLE CREATOR"

was Officially Completed on November 18th, 2002, and Released on CD - NOVEMBER 30th, 2002.

March of 2003 saw the CD release of "The SECRET IDENTITY Collection",

which contains the songs from the first three Secret Identity projects.

In September of 2003, Rob also re-released on CD, the 1991 album: "Desmond's Ride"-

- with additional tracks recorded from 1989 to the early 90's.

So with the re-releases of his albums complete, Rob had begun again,

to explore and focus in on the next chapter of his musical journey.

Ever since the demise of Secret Identity, and even during The "Sole Creator" recording project,

Rob had always kept the desire to collaborate with others, and once again rehearse and perform with a Live Band.

Early in the new decade he would on occasion, get together with two of his nephews,

who were just starting out as young aspiring musicians.

Rob had not been writing much new material at this point, but what he did create during this time had great potential.

It was Definitive Hard Rock with power and energy.

Rob felt this new music would best be represented with the help of a Live Band.

It seemed that Rob would finally get his wish, for in February of 2004,

He had helped form a new Rock Band consisting of his nephew on Guitar & Vocals, His nephew's friend on The Drums,

and Rob himself, on Guitar, Vocals and occasional Bass.

This line-up though, only lasted until the late-spring of '04, as his nephew quickly became uninterested

and totally negated the band in favor of (shall we say) "The Sweet Leaf".

Despite this setback, Rob and the drummer had made the decision to keep searching for a permanent bassist.

Meanwhile, the two continued to rehearse. Rob's other nephew; A Bassist, (who had jammed with him in the past)

had begun to show some interest, and would occasionally sit in on practice sessions during the summer of '04.

Nothing more was accomplished as a band from August to November of '04,

as the drummer (much to Rob's dismay) had abruptly taken time off and fell away from the project.

The band (much to Rob's delight) re-grouped in late November,

and with a steadier input from The Bassist, had begun to re-organize their efforts.

By this time, Rob felt he had created nearly enough new material for a recording project,

and that they would all be up to the task.

With the songs progressing nicely, Rob was planning to begin recording sessions for a debut album

(containing at least six songs) by mid-year of 2005.

Now, knowing it was just a matter of time, Rob's Nephew became an Official Member of the Band in January of '05,

at which time, The Trio held Band Rehearsals twice a week, working on a growing set-list of Originals and Cover-Songs,

in an effort to gear up for recording sessions, as well as potential Live Shows later in 2005.

Unfortunately, by the spring of '05,
(due to circumstances beyond Rob's control)

The inner-workings of the group had begun to deteriorate, and a lack of cohesiveness had set in between the three members.

On May 13, 2005, Rob Desmond had decided to dis-band the current line-up, as he could no longer deal with the pressure of

certain undisclosed professional and personal issues between himself and the other two members.

Through the summer of 2005, Rob had made no decision on whether or not to reform the group with members old or new.

However, despite the demise of the band, The Recording Project was the one thing that Rob continued to pursue.

Stating that-"The Music Created By Me for This (Now De-funked Band) Album Will Live On!"

True to his word; Rob Desmond (once again: On His Own) began Recording Sessions for The Album

(which he had yet to give a title) in December of 2005.

The Production continued throughout most of 2006, and by this time Rob had penned an Album Title for the project.

The Album entitled: ROB DESMOND-"Phantom Existence"
was completed in January 2007,

and Officially Released on February 4th.

Through all of the up's and down's of getting this album to become a reality, upon completion,

Rob knew that the six songs contained within were top-notch from start to finish,

though he considers the trials and tribulations with The Band "A Sad Waste".

Now that all is said and done, Rob Desmond can take great pride and satisfaction in knowing that

The PHANTOM EXISTENCE Album is revered by many Rock Music Listeners as His Best To Date!

So, after reveling in the success of his latest project, what's next?

Well one thing is certain... ROB DESMOND'S RIDE Continues...

...with A NEW ALBUM!
Following up 2007's 'Phantom Existence'; A Hard-Rock album,

Rob Desmond continued to show his musical diversity on His Latest; The 2010 Album 'ELUSIVE'.

This one as planned, is nothing like It's Predecessor. The Songs contained on 'Elusive' are a mixture of Rock,

yet in a lighter realm, with perhaps an unexpected taste of Country and Pop as well.

Rob had penned the songs for The 'Elusive' Project far in advance, with some more recent touch-ups along the way.

The 'Elusive' Project had actually begun to take shape in 2005 during the uncertainty leading up to the 'Phantom' Project.

As The 'Phantom' recording sessions began, Rob had left the interim project in a preliminary stage.

By Late-2008, nearly two years after the completion of The 'Phantom Existence' Album,

Rob then picked up where he left off on The 'Elusive' Project,

and it was full-steam-ahead as recording sessions began for the album.

Nearly a year-to-the-day, the sessions were complete and anticipation was growing as mixing and mastering the album insued.

The Album: ROB DESMOND 'Elusive' was released on January 25th, 2010.
New Rob Desmond Music! What a fitting way to start A New Decade!

With more new music on the horizon, Rob also focused on a 'Live' project called 'Jamfest'.

A yearly private by-invitation music festival which he co-founded in 2010.

Rob would perform live at the festival (and similar manifestations of such) from 2010 to 2016,

Solo and with his two satellite groups; 'dreWids' and 'The Slovs'.

Rob's song writing continued into the early 2010's and by the end of 2012

He was ready to embark on his latest recording project.

Recording sessions began in December of 2012 for Rob's Latest Album 'ANONYMITY'.

Mostly consisting of fresh new material Rob had penned after the release of 2010's 'Elusive' album,

Rob continued with a slow mythotical recording and production process though most of the next four years.

The recording project was finally completed and the album entitled;

Rob Desmond 'Anonymity' was officially released on October 1st 2016.

(As a teaser, three weeks prior, 'Let's Get It Back' was released as the first single from the album.)

The seven songs contained on 'Anonymity' have a lot to offer listeners.

Ranging from the expected Rob Desmond Hard Rock stylings and acoustic soft rock sounds,

There are certain more modern song stylings and structures not commonly heard in Rob's prior recordings.

Since the release his latest project, Rob has yet it contemplate his next musical move.
